TRICK OR TREAT-2010

(Benjamin Sailo, a Superman  coming to trick or treat in our house)

Every year October 31 is observed as Halloween Day in the USA. Long before the day arrived children young and older alike want to have  halloween costumes. The weirder the better. Some family spend a whole lot of money for these kind of outfits.

Like all other kids my children also want to have a new costumes every year. About 5-10 days ahead they always insist on shopping at  Party America or Party City. These are popular store to shop for costumes and all kinds of party materials you may want to buy.

Some year they are spider man and other  times they are police officer. My daughter Dini  donned Milley Cyrus last year  but this year she became somebody else. They paint their face in a weird way and try to look different as much as possible.

Right after the sun sets they go out to neighbors and knock on their door and shout "Trick or treat?" and home owner would open the door saying, "Treat" and give them a handful of candies. Little kids are sometimes accompanied by their sisters or parents. Kids love this practice so much that, they consider this to be one of their favorite holidays of the year.

After trick or treating for 2- 3 hours, my kids always come home with a bag full of candies. Elated, contented. They count and count how much did they get, who got the most, what kind did they get. What we parents  say to the children at this time is, " Eat a couple or so and save the rest........don't forget to brush your teeth reeeaaal good".
(Definitely not....Maruati didn't want to trick but treat...(ed)  Ben Ben)
